Fall 2017

  Summary: Enjoy 10 weeks of farmer fresh fruits and vegetables all Fall Long! Select your share size to pick up weekly from convenient pickup locations all throughout the area. This is our fastest growing CSA program. People love it because you get all the summer staples the first half, then all the fall goodies in the second half! Read what people are saying:

The following is for the 2017 season.

Enjoy weeks of fresh, nutrient-dense, sustainably grown produce. In this program members will get a veggie intensive box along with fruit and fruit products mixed in when available. This box will be heavy on the greens (lettuce, spinach, kales) and storage crops (potatoes, onions, garlic, apples, carrots) but also have some flair, with some new varieties we are trying out just for the CSA. The majority of the produce will be grown under our high tunnels, metal structures (unheated greenhouses).

Dates: February 6th, 2017 - April 15th, 2017 (10 weeks)

Pickup Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday

Share Sizes and Cost: 

   Regular: minimum of 4 units per week; $200.00 for share

   Large: minimum of 6 units per week; $300.00 for share

Summer 2017 

The following is for the 2017 season.

Enjoy weeks of either our Traditional share or Fruit share (or both) during the heart of the growing season here in southeastern Virginia. Details follow:

Dates: Week after Mother's Day thru mid-August (14 weeks)

May 15th through August 18th

Pickup Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 

Traditional Share Sizes and Cost:

          Jumbo Share: 8 units* per week. cost $540.00

          Large Share: 6 units* per week. cost $420.00

          Regular Share: 4 units* per week. cost $280.00

 Fruit Share Sizes and Cost:

           Large Share: around 6 units* per week, cost $420.00

           Regular Share: around 4 units* per week, cost $280.00 

*Each unit is a fruit, vegetable, or in some weeks a value-added item (such as a cider or jar good). 4 units=4 items. Examples include a quart of strawberries, 2lbs. of summer squash, pint of blackberries, 6 ears of sweet corn, etc. The amount of each "unit" varies, but we try our best to approximate an "average" amount for each unit.

We grow over 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables, so the items listed above serve as a mere sampling of what you can expect to receive throughout the various months.

Traditional Share Crops:

May: Strawberries, Shelled May Peas, Spring Onions, Winter Squash Medley, Purple Sweet Potatoes, Apples, Lettuce, Kale, Spinach, Leeks, Beets, Pears and Carrots

June: Tomatoes, Blackberries, Raspberries, Cucumbers, Broccoli, Swiss chard, Sweet Potatoes, Assorted Snap Beans and Sweet Corn

July: Cantaloupe, Fingerling Potatoes, Gourmet mini-tomates, Eggplant, Blueberries, Pepper mix, Red new potatoes, Shelled Butterbeans, and Vine ripe tomatoes

August: Shelled Crowder Peas, Heirloom Tomatoes, Peaches, Pears, Apples, Purple Potatoes, Okra, Green Beans, Watermelon, and Specialty Melon

Fruit Share Crops:

May:  Strawberries, Storage Apples and Pears, and Asparagus

June: Blackberry, Raspberry, and Peaches 

July: Specialty Melon, Plums, Nectarines, Blueberries, Watermelon 

August: Muscadine Grapes, Pears, White Peaches, Apples, Cantaloupe
